SAINT BENEDICT OF PALERMO ABBEY

The Abbey of San Benito de Palermo in Buenos Aires, was a Benedictine monastery founded -as is the custom in the Order- by the famous Castilian Abbey of Santo Domingo de Silos. It was in this place until 1973, the year in which the community moved to the current Abbey in Jaúregui (Luján, B.A.) It was not until 1940 that the foundation stone of the current temple was laid, today the Parish of San Benito.

The National Museum of Decorative Art located at Avenida del Libertador 1902 in the City of Buenos Aires was created in 1937 after the acquisition, by the State, of the building that was the Errázuriz Palace of Matías Errázuriz Ortúzar and his wife Josefina de Alvear. .

The Botanical Garden of Buenos Aires called, since 1937, Carlos Thays in honor of the landscaper of the same name who conceived it. It is located near the forests of the Palermo neighborhood of the aforementioned city.
